Cuteness and functionality come together with the Snuggle and Store Tote Bag from Liberty Jane! The doll carrier tote bag features a perfectly size doll bed on the top of the roomy storage bag. Slip your 13 – 18 doll inside and carry her around in style! The fully lined bag includes a large storage compartment to hold all their clothing and accessory items.
The sewing pattern includes full step by step instructions to make the bag using purchased ready-made piping, but you can also make your own to coordinate perfectly. The bag can also be made without the piping if desired. The interior of the bag is lined with a quilted batting layer to give the bag structure and support. This is the least expensive way to make the bag and likely the most convenient in regards to your sewing supplies on hand. Alternately, you can use a stabilizer or interfacing to give it an extra amount of structure.
This pattern is inspired by a bag that Cinnamon (Liberty Jane) had as a child, her favorite treasured toy originally made by her mom. This recreation of the item was a team effort and we are super excited to offer this pattern to you! Maybe it will create a cherished memory for someone in your life too!
The bag is offered in two sizes: Small (for 13-15 dolls) and Large (for larger dolls up to 18 inches tall)
The small bag pictured on the cover measures 17 inches long by 10 inches wide, is sized to work with 13-inch to 15-inch dolls such as Les Cheries®, Hearts For Hearts Girls®, Glitter Girls®, Ruby Red Fashion Friends®, Bitty Baby®, Bitty Twin®, Melissa and Doug® Baby Dolls, and more!
The larger bag, shown in purple, is sized a bit larger. The bag measures 20-inches long by 10 inches wide and fits 18 dolls such as American GIrl®, Journey Girls®, My Life As®, Our Generation®, and more.
The PDF pattern document includes both measurement charts and printable pattern pieces that need to be taped together. You can use the charts in place of printing out the pattern pieces if desired.
Suggested fabrics:
- Woven no stretch, medium to heavyweight fabric for the body of the bag such as corduroy, twill, duck, or denim. Can be combined with interfacings such as Pellon® SF101 or Soft N Stable® brand thin foam stabilizer (featured in the turquoise pink example)
- Quilting Cotton for the bag lining
- Optionally, you can find pre quilted fabric on the bolt. This works great for the lining and the quilting work is done for you which saves time!

- 1 1 4 yards fabric (outside of the bag)
- 1 yard fabric (lining)
- 1 2 yard fabric for contrasting bed top (optional)
- 7 yards piping (3 packages)
- 1 yard eyelet ruffle trim
- Thin layer of batting to back all of the lining pieces
- Double pull #3 zipper 40-inch minimum length OR two 22-inch zippers (we used the 60 Meillia Double Slider Zipper found on Amazon)
- Sewing Machine
- Zipper Foot
- Double-sided basting tape (optional)
