This PDF sewing pattern by FROG Princess Fashions is designed to fit 18 dolls such as American Girl®. This pattern is modeled on modern, Mattel brand American Girl® dolls with slimmer bodies, but has enough ease to fit many of the older style Pleasant Company dolls. Be sure to compare the pattern pieces to your doll prior to cutting.
Recommended Fabrics: Best suited for woven fabrics such as cotton, poly-cotton, rayon, gauze, light chambray, lawn, seersucker, batiste, bubble gauze, eyelet, distressed, batik, and tie-dye cotton, also calico, gingham, plaid. Not recommended for sheer, stiff, stretchy, or heavy weight fabrics.
Supplies Needed:
- ¼ yd main fabric or 1 fat quarter
- 1 8 yd lining fabric or 1 fat quarter
- 1 8 yd fabric 1 or 1 fat quarter
- 1 8 yd fabric 2 or 1 fat quarter
- 1 8 yd lining or use one of the above fabrics or fat quarters
- Matching thread for construction
- Contrasting thread for topstitching or decorative stitching
- Narrow hook and loop tape or three ¼” buttons.
- 1 8 – ¼” soft elastic
1 8 or ¼” flat lace for edging OR 1 ½” wide lace for ruffle topper or to replace ruffles as follows:sleeve ruffle: 9” flat laceUpper ruffle: 23 ½ ” flat laceHem ruffle: 26 ½” flat lace

- Turning tool or hemostats
